Who is Morgan Ortagus? Morgan Deann Ortagus, born in 1982 in Florida, is an American television commentator, Navy officer, financial analyst, and political advisor. She served as the spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State from 2019 to 2021 during Trump’s first administration.
Ortagus, who converted to Judaism after marriage, studied political science at the University of Florida and holds a Master of Business Administration degree. She has held various positions in security, diplomacy, and economic fields. She is also the co-founder of the Polaris National Security think tank, co-chair of the Women’s Democracy Network at the International Republican Institute, and a member of the advisory board of the Hudson Institute’s China Center.
