First Car Exhibition After lifting of the Import Ban

After the ban on importing non-Chinese cars was lifted, the International Car Exhibition is being held.

Domestic car manufacturers, predominantly state-owned, have struggled to keep pace with their global competitors. Low quality and poor safety features have led to consumer complaints.

Our country, with around 17,000 road deaths annually, has one of the worst road safety records in the world. Widespread disregard for traffic laws, unsafe vehicles, and inadequate emergency services in vast rural areas are reasons for these high casualty figures. The events often include competitions or awards, such as “Car of the Year,” where industry experts and journalists evaluate vehicles on design, innovation, safety, and performance. Attendees can gain insights from these evaluations, providing a deeper understanding of what makes a car stand out in the global market.
