All you need to know about the controversial new streaming series
This realization has not escaped the anxious guardians of the Islamic Republic. For instance, the Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, attacked the series in a report, stating: “Tasiyan ostensibly aims to depict the social atmosphere of Iran on the eve of the Islamic Revolution but presents a distorted and biased narrative of that era.”
The IRGC-affiliated outlet also claimed: “The series, by ignoring many historical realities, engages in whitewashing SAVAK, promoting an aristocratic lifestyle, distorting revolutionary struggles, and biased character portrayal.”
Fars further alleged: “Characters representing monarchist tendencies are depicted as deep, multidimensional, intelligent, and driven by complex motives, while opponents of the regime are portrayed as emotional, thoughtless, shallow, or caricatured.”
