All you need to know about the controversial new streaming series
The series “Tasiyan” has deeply angered the media, propaganda institutions, and authorities of the Islamic Republic. For this reason, a few days before its broadcast, it was announced that the series could not be aired due to “Tina Pakravan’s lack of vetting.” The concept of vetting artists emerged after some artists joined the nationwide uprising of 2022, meaning that professionals in various artistic fields must obtain necessary approvals from relevant institutions to continue their careers.
Despite the ban on airing “Tasiyan,” the first episode of this dramatic work was ultimately released, but the controversies surrounding it not only persisted but intensified.
Opponents of the series have protested its scenes of dancing, revelry, and alcohol consumption, launching campaigns to have it banned. Tina Pakravan, in interviews, has lashed out at the critics, accusing them of being afraid of a romantic series.
