10 Cultural Traditions Unique to us

Burning Esfand (Wild Rue) Our people hold a strong belief in the concept of the evil eye and burn esfand (wild rue) on Wednesday or Friday nights to ward off negative energy and protect their loved ones from harm. Esfand plays a significant role in weddings and engagement ceremonies, where the bride and groom often take turns circling a handful of esfand over each other’s heads before placing it in a brazier to burn. While burning incense is a significant cultural tradition in Indian culture, in our country, burning esfand is a deeply rooted cultural practice that continues to be widely observed.

Disclaimer: Our cultural tradition is very diverse due to the different ethnic groups living in our country, which is part of the unified cultural tradition. These traditions, which come from our culture of thousands of years ago, are still intact. It is true that under the influence of the global village, parts of global cultures have been formed, with media playing the most significant role. However, despite all these changes, traditions have not only been preserved in our country but also in other parts around the world.
