10 Cultural Traditions Unique to us
The Last Thursday of the Year is a cultural tradition, visiting cemeteries on the last Thursday of the year is a longstanding custom. Notably, this practice existed in the Zoroastrian traditions of the Sassanian era and has persisted among us even after the advent of Islam. In Zoroastrian belief, the deceased remain present in the lives of the living, and it is important to honor their souls. For this reason, at the end of the year, all people commemorate the departed by giving food to the poor. This custom has continued after the arrival of Islam, and while it has taken on an Islamic character, many still visit cemeteries on this day to pray for the souls of the deceased and distribute charity. This practice is an important part of out cultural tradition, and although it occurs only once a year, it is still widely observed by all.
Disclaimer: Our cultural tradition is very diverse due to the different ethnic groups living in our country, which is part of the unified cultural tradition. These traditions, which come from our culture of thousands of years ago, are still intact. It is true that under the influence of the global village, parts of global cultures have been formed, with media playing the most significant role. However, despite all these changes, traditions have not only been preserved in our country but also in other parts around the world.
